CHRISTOPHOR PERIATT - Co-Founder/Owner/Lead Instructor

Chris began his tactical career by joining the United States Marine Corps after graduating High School. Chris served his country from 1987-1994 with 1st battalion 24th Marines, 4th marine Division (SOC). Chris served within a weapons platoon as an Assault Section Squad Leader (0351).   Upon the many awards he received, Chris was a 4th award expert rifle and pistol recipient, and received an Honorable Discharge after serving 6 years. Chris is currently serving as an active law enforcement officer with over 2 decades of experience. Chris began his LEO career with the Detroit Police Department and was chosen to serve within the department’s Tactical Services Section as a Tactical Patrol Officer. Once in the section Chris was handpicked to serve on the department’s elite counter-sniper team. Chris has served with the St. Clair Shores Police Department for over 18 years, with 16 years of service on the agencies emergency response team, and currently serves as the department’s senior K9 handler. Chris has also served as the department’s use-of-force instructor and has assisted the department in updating policies in regards to all areas of use-of-force. Chris has been involved in a multitude of use-of-force situations with his decisions always being upheld and supported by his agencies. Chris has been held as a subject matter expert in the areas of use-of-force and K9 deployments by both the Federal District Court/Eastern District, and the 16th Judicial Court of Macomb County.

Chris is certified through the Michigan Council on Law Enforcement Ethics and Standards (MCOLES) as a Firearms Instructor and Subject Control Instructor, Chris is a certified instructor with 4 separate Krav Maga associations, 6 different Subject Control systems and 2 Knife Instructor systems. Chris has completed over 5,000 hours of law enforcement training during his career as an active law enforcement officer. Chris has recently been awarded the prestige title of Master Use -of-Force Instructor and Senior Tactical Patrol Officer thorough the Michigan Tactical Officers Association. Chris continues to train with some of the leading experts in the Law Enforcement and Special Operations community throughout the North America.

Currently Chris holds a Brown Belt 2nd stripe in Jiu-Jitsu from NAAMA Karate under the tutelage of Master Bryan Paz, and is continuing weekly training in Krav Maga through Mada Krav Maga under Black Belt Instructor Adam Munzing. Chris continues to trains in Boxing, Kick Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Kali/Arnis.   Chris also teaches Krav Maga at Mada Krav Maga in Shelby Twp., MI. He has been working for over 10 years as a Lead Academy and Tactical Coordinator/Instructor at the Macomb Community College Advanced Criminal Justice Training Center & Macomb Police Academy. Chris currently develops, and instructs courses in Active Shooter, Combat Pistol, Patrol Rifle, Subject Control, Weapon Retention, Offensive & Defensive Knife, Advanced Patrol Tactics, High Risk Warrant, Hostage Rescue, Basic and Advanced SWAT Officer and Police Sniper. Chris is a NTOA Certified Enhanced Active Shooter instructor, and an ITOA MACTAC-Urban Combat instructor.

Chris has served on the board of the Michigan Tactical Officers Association since 1999 and has served as the Association President since 2006.

DAVID BONACORSI - Instructor

David Bonacorsi worked for the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. David was a weapons specialist and designed/adapted weapon systems onto military vehicles.

David has been a full time certified Police Officer for over 25 years.  David has spent his entire career with the City of Warren Police Department where he started in patrol. David became a Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor and shortly thereafter a member of Warrens Special Response Team. David served 15 years with the SRT Team in various roles including sniper commander, sniper, assault team member, assault team leader, breacher, chemical munitions/less lethal instructor, sub-gun/machine-gun instructor and was responsible for all firearms training for the team.

David is certified through the Michigan Council on Law Enforcement Ethics and Standards (MCOLES) as a Firearms Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor. David has trained with some of the leading experts in the Law Enforcement and Special Operations community throughout the United States. David continues his training regiment by traveling and attending training venues throughout the U.S.

David has been working as an adjunct and Tactical Instructor at the Macomb Community College Criminal Justice Training Center. David currently instructs and helps develop courses in Active Shooter, Combat Pistol, Patrol Rifle, Defensive Tactics, Sub-gun/Machine-gun Instructors School, Basic and Advanced SWAT Officer and Police Sniper.

David has been involved with the Michigan Tactical Officers Association since 2002 and has recently begun serving as the Association Eastern District Representative.

R. JAY PHELPS - Instructor

R. Jay Phelps is a 11 year veteran of law enforcement. He has served as a patrol officer, Patrol Supervisor and member of the 23rd Judicial Drug Task Force Drug Interdiction Team (D. I. C. E.). He has spent the last 3 years as the Sniper Team Leader for the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office ERT Team. Phelps is also a 24 year veteran of the Military where he served 20 years in the U. S. Marine Corps and the last 4 years with the Tennessee National Guard. He has served in various Sniper Billets from Sniper, Sniper Team Leader, Sniper Section Leader, and Sniper Platoon Sergeant to Sniper Platoon Commander. He is currently serving as the Senior Sniper Leader for the Tennessee National Guard’s 278th ACR Regiment. Phelps is currently a POST Certified Police Sniper Instructor and has attended several Military and Law Enforcement Sniper Courses. Phelps serves with the AmericanSniper.Org and American Sniper Association’s and is also a member of the U. S. Marine Corps and U. S. Army Sniper Associations.
